How do I clean my deep wound?

My index finger was scd and the wound is very deep. It is in the nail area and most of the nail is off. I can't see a doctor for a while. How do I keep the deep wound clean? I don't want it to get infected. I've been putting iodine on it until I recently learned that iodine and hydrogen peroxide are bad for deep wounds (they kill off the skin cells and prevent healing in deep wounds). How do I clean it?
