The Mentalist Season 4 predictions?

Just watched the last episode of season 3 of the mentalist and it BLEW MY MIND!!! Lots of people I know think that Red John is really dead or that Patrick didn't kill him (even though Patrick has been saying from day one that he would and his gun was freakin' smoking after the shots). I think that Patrick did kill red John and season 4 will see him being freed from prison as long as he helps with a new case involving a new serial killer (setting up a new antagonist for Jane) and the next few seasons will see him battling this guy. What do you think of my theory and do you have any of your own? Best answer gets 5 stars!
