Do you cut food to buy heat?

I bought much less beef last winter and prepared foods than I used to 4+ years ago. I have a dozen ways to make chicken soup and never got tired of it last winter, and beans & cornbread are always good in the winter (I won't turn on the oven to bake cornbread, biscuits, pizza or other foods in the summer so I look forward to making them when the weather gets cold. Cheaper than buying pizzas in a restaurant too).
