A keylogger does just that, logs your keystrokes. For example, when you enter a pword or credit card info, even though it is hidden on your computer, a keylogger tracked the keys pressed and now knows your pword or credit card info. The best way to outsmart them is to use a secure virtual keyboard when typing personal info. You could probably google "secure virtual keyboards" and be able to find a decent free one. Consult your anti-virus program for info to quarantine the trojan.
