Compazine Nightmares?
The very thought of having cancer can be extremely stressful to the mind. Compazine shouldn't trigger nightmares. Your subconscious may be causing these nightmares as its way of attempting to fight back against a frightening threat. Sometimes when we feel threatend, we "act out" this threat in a completely different way in our nightmares. For example, it's not unusual to find people who have suffered abuse of some sort or other to have dreams of being attacked by wild animals, for example, or for other frightening things happening to them. That's just the mind's way of trying to deal with the abuse, and to understand why they are being abused, trying to put it into terms the mind can better understand. Thus, in their nightmares, the abuse becomes "wild animals attacking." Often when you come face to face with the threat and deal with it, the nightmares often stop abruptly. I suspect once your cancer starts going into remission, your dreams will improve considerably. One of the interesting side effects of Compazine is that it is a mild tranquilizer or sedative, so my guess is that it's actually helping you to sleep, not causing nightmares. I wouldn't discontinue taking it because it really does help with the nausea from drugs used in cancer treatments.
